1970 CHARGER INTERIORS AND OTHER OPTIONS
|

STANDARD CHARGER TRIM
All vinyl split-back bench seat is standard and is the only seat
available in Charger. The vinyl is available in green, blue, tan,
white, burnt orange and charcoal. The door and quarter garnish
mouldings are painted. A special clock cover plate is installed
on Charger, however, the clock is available as an extra-cost
option. Belt moulding is standard; wheel lip mouldings are not
available. Bright drip rail moulding ends at the base of the
C-pillar instead of continuing into the belt moulding as on
Charger R/T and Charger 500. The tail light panel is painted body
color.

CHARGER R/T AND CHARGER 500 STANDARD TRIM*
Full-foam, all vinyl bucket seats with head restraints integrated
in the high backs are standard. The fixed center cushion and folding
center armrest, or the console are extra cost options. The all-vinyl
trim is available in blue, green, burnt orange, char-coal, white and
tan. *Bucket seats only are standard. A special clock cover plate is
installed on Charger R/T, however, the clock is available as an
extra-cost option. It is standard on Charger 500. The Charger R/T
instrument panel is trimmed with rich and lustrous wood-grain
material. Charger 500 has standard black textured finish. Side tape
stripes and side scoops are standard on Charger R/T. The bumble bee
stripe is a no-cost option and may be deleted. Bumble bee stripe is
not available on Charger 500. The hood performance paint treatment
(V21) is available on Charger R/T and Charger 500 as an extra cost
option.

CHARGER R/T & 500 ADDITIONAL STANDARD TRIM*
Full-foam, cloth and vinyl bucket seats are a no-cost option in Charger
R/T and Charger 500. The fixed center cushion and folding armrest, or
the console are optional at extra cost. The cloth and vinyl trim is
available in charcoal only. *Bucket seats only are standard.

CHARGER R/T, CHARGER 500 AND OPTIONAL SPECIAL EDITION TRIM*
The Special Edition Package is available on both the Charger R/T and Charger 500. When
the optional at-extra-cost Special Edition Package is selected, Charger R/T and Charger
500 receive full-foam, leather and vinyl bucket seats. The fixed center cushion and
folding center armrest, or the console are optional at extra cost. The leather is
available in green, tan, blue and charcoal. *Bucket seats only are standard. When the
Special Edition Package is selected, the Charger 500 instrument panel is trimmed with
rich and lustrous wood-grain material. Also included in the Charger SE Package are:
Deep Dish wheel covers, hood mounted turn signal indicators, a distinctive Special
Edition nameplate mounted on the C-pillar, a simulated wood-grain steering wheel with
stainless steel spider and padded horn button, the light group (A01) and bright trim
on the brake and accelerator pedals (with a manual transmission, the clutch pedal also
receives bright trim).

VINYL ROOF
The attractive vinyl roof is available on all Charger, Charger R/T
and Charger 500 models as an extra-cost option. The black or white
vinyl roofs go with all exterior colors. The new Gator Grain roof
is available with green, tan and gold exteriors with all interiors;
and with beige, white and black exteriors with green, tan or
charcoal and white interiors; and with burnt orange exterior with
burnt orange, charcoal or white interiors; and with banana
exterior with charcoal or white interiors; and finally with blue
exterior with blue, charcoal or white interiors. The green roof is
available with green exteriors regardless of interior trim; and
with beige, banana, gold, black and white exteriors when used with
green interiors; and with beige, black and white exteriors when
used with charcoal or white interiors.

MAJOR OPTIONS
AIR CONDITIONING: The Charger air conditioning system is
easily controlled by seven lighted push-pull buttons located just
under the lip of the upper instrument panel padding. In addition
to providing the exact degree of coolness desired in the summer
and the exact degree of warmth desired in the winter, you can also
dehumidify all year long. On cool but humid days, you simply push
the temperature button, the A/C button and the fan button in. The
outside air is first cooled to remove the excess humidity, and
then warmed to the degree you desire before it is sent into the
passenger compartment.

AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL: Press the button on the end of the
turn-signal lever and release it when the desired speed is reached.
To increase the speed, the button can be tapped or the accelerator
pedal can be pushed and the button pressed in and released when the
new desired speed is reached. If the brakes are used to slow down,
you resume the preset speed by rotating the collar until it stops.
The collar also has an "off" position which deactivates the unit and
erases the speed memory. To slow down, lift you foot off the
accelerator and hold the button in until the desired speed is
reached and then release the button. Applying the brakes or turning
off the ignition disengages the speed control. Automatic transmission
is required with the 318. Automatic transmission and power brakes are
required with 383 V8s and on the Charger R/T.

STEREO TAPE: The stereo tape unit is integrated with an AM radio.
Transistorized. Three speakers are mounted in the instrument panel.
Each tape cartridge provides up to eighty minutes of uninterrupted
stereophonic music.
|
|
MANUAL TILT BUCKET SEAT ADJUSTER: The manual tilt bucket seat
adjuster has many different positions-fore and aft, up and down and tilt.
It can be adjusted up and down a total of 1 1/2 inches. The seat is
counterbalanced by spring action so that it is easy to adjust it up and
down.

|
REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER: This convenience feature does away with the
hazard and irritation of having the rear window fog over on cold, damp
or humid days.
|
|
SUN ROOF: A sun roof is available on Charger, Charger 500 and Charger
R/T. A vinyl roof is require with the sun roof.
|
|
THREE SPEED WINDSHIELD WIPERS: The three-speed wipers provide greater
selectivity of wiper speed to match weather conditions. Standard with
383 Magnum, 440 and Hemi.
|
|
AM/FM RADIO: The solid-state AM/FM radio provides the ultimate in
variety and pleasure. In addition to the AM/FM radio and the AM/stereo tape
unit, there is the 5 1/2 watt Astrophonic which is also transistorized for
trouble-free instant play, as is the 2-watt Music Master.
|
|
HEADLIGHT DELAY UNIT: This convenience feature causes the headlights
to remain on for 90 seconds when the ignition is turned off first, and then
the headlights are turned off. It must be in that order-ignition off first.
After 90 seconds, the headlights turn off automatically.

|
POWER WINDOWS: Power windows, with safe flush-mounted controls offer
the convenience of raising or lowering any window from the driver's seat.
|
|
HOOD HOLD-DOWN PINS: NASCAR-type hood hold-down pins are an extra-cost
option on Charger R/T.
